What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.

CONSERVATION

Our story begins with a deep love for the ocean. Long before it became our profession, it was the place that inspired us, challenged us, and ultimately shaped who we are. Today, as marine biologists, we’ve dedicated our lives to understanding and protecting the incredible wildlife of Baja California Sur.

With a PhD in Marine Science and a specialization in whale sharks, Francesca’s work has taken her beneath the surface to better understand and protect the delicate balance of life in La Paz Bay. Erick has spent over 30 years diving these waters, including more than two decades studying manta rays of the region. This long-term research laid the foundation for the creation of Manta Pacífico, a collective dedicated to the study and conservation of manta rays in the Mexican Pacific. Ten years ago, we’ve funded Orcas México, contributing to the research and conservation of orcas in the Gulf of California. If you’d like to learn more about this project, we invite you to visit our website https://www.orcasmexico.org/

Beyond the science, what truly drives us is the desire to share these moments with others. Seeing someone’s first encounter with a whale shark or a sea lion is something we never take for granted. We believe that when people experience the ocean up close, something changes—they connect, they care, and they become part of the story of protecting it.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is at the heart of responsible travel, especially when exploring fragile marine environments like those of Baja California Sur. Every choice we make—both as operators and as visitors—has an impact. That’s why we are committed to minimizing our footprint by avoiding single-use plastics, reducing waste, and operating in a way that respects wildlife and their natural habitats.

During our trips, this commitment translates into simple but meaningful actions: we provide reusable water containers instead of plastic bottles, encourage reef-safe sunscreen, and carefully brief our guests on how to interact respectfully with marine life. We serve fresh locally prepared food, thoughtfully made by local families, supporting the community and ensuring that the benefits of tourism remain within the region.

We believe tourism should not only protect these environments, but actively contribute to their preservation. By sharing these practices with our guests, we hope every experience becomes part of a larger effort to keep these extraordinary places thriving for generations to come.
