Los Islotes
Your Experience
Get ready for one of the most fun and unforgettable dives in Baja at Los Islotes, located just north of Isla Espíritu Santo. These dramatic rock islets — one featuring a natural arch — are surrounded by crystal-clear waters bursting with life, making them a true playground for divers and snorkelers alike.
As you descend, you’ll be welcomed by a vibrant underwater scene filled with swirling schools of silvery sardines, flashes of yellow surgeonfish, and the striking colors of angelfish gliding among golden cup corals. But the real stars of the show? The sea lions.
Home to a lively colony of over 500 California sea lions, Los Islotes offers a chance to interact with some of the ocean’s most playful creatures. Curious pups zip around you, blowing bubbles, nibbling fins, and showing off their acrobatics in a joyful underwater dance. It’s like being invited into their world — and they love the attention. During mating season, you may also spot the impressive bulls standing guard, adding a touch of wild drama to the scene.
Circle the islets and every moment feels different — full of movement, color, and personality. Whether you're laughing behind your regulator as sea lion pups spin around you or simply soaking in the marine life all around, Los Islotes delivers pure underwater joy and is truly a must-do experience in La Paz.
Please note: during the winter months, this site may be inaccessible due to strong winds and sea conditions. Additionally, snorkeling and scuba diving are not permitted from June 1st to August 31st in accordance with government regulations.
