Swimming with Whale Sharks
Your Experience
Step aboard one of the finest whale shark experiences in La Paz and encounter the largest fish in the ocean—the gentle giant and most iconic species of the region.
Within minutes of departing into La Paz Bay, you will begin your search for whale sharks, with the opportunity to swim alongside one or more of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Leading your experience is Francesca, a highly specialized marine biologist with over 15 years of hands-on experience working with whale sharks, who also holds a PhD focused on this remarkable species—offering you rare, in-depth insight few tours can provide.
Our tours are intentionally limited to a maximum of nine guests per boat (minimum four), ensuring a comfortable, intimate, and highly personalized experience.
Widely regarded as one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters in the region, La Paz is consistently ranked among the top destinations in the world for whale shark snorkeling. To preserve this unique ecosystem, access is carefully regulated by federal authorities in collaboration with certified operators—helping ensure these incredible animals return year after year.
For nature lovers, this is truly an unforgettable experience.
If you wish to enhance your day, you may also explore our extended tour option, which includes snorkeling with sea lions and a visit to the iconic Balandra Beach.
Whale shark season is expected to run from mid-November through mid-April.
